VidaViva Ecofood produces dehydrated fruits from organic fruits that are produced in one of the agricultural areas of the island of La Palma, known as Isla Bonita, with its diverse and beautiful landscapes and iconic places.

Most of the citrus fruits come from organic production and harvesting in our own fields in Tijarafe. The fields are very well located because they have a very good altitude, ranging from 270 m to 800 m, which makes the conditions in the growing areas very good.

A while ago, a volcano erupted on La Palma and caused problems for our crops, but after all the suffering, the ashes were used on our plantations. Our orchards benefit from the nutrient-rich volcanic ash, the island's clean air, good sunlight and natural mountains help our citrus trees thrive and grow more efficiently. The oranges are harvested, cleaned, peeled, sorted and their peels are dehydrated to produce healthy and nutritious dehydrated orange peel for use in desserts, salads or natural cosmetics.

Properties of dehydrated orange peel:

Dried orange peel contains sugar, cellulose and hemicellulose. The main antioxidant nutrient is hesperidin which is beneficial for the central nervous system. It is abundant in a particular type of carbohydrate called pectin which has great benefits for the small intestine, is rich in natural antioxidants and has a high content of Vitamin A and C.

It prevents cholesterol, reduces acidity, relieves digestive problems, is antibacterial, prevents the appearance of spots caused by the sun, has an analgesic effect, fights respiratory diseases, improves dental health and helps to lose weight.

Our dried fruits from La Palma last in good condition for two years. To preserve them properly, they should be kept in their original packaging or, better yet, put them in an airtight glass jar and store them in a cool, dark and dry place.
